Child Protection Support

Every child deserves to grow up in a safe, caring and supportive environment with access to education, healthcare, nutrition and opportunities to build a better future. However, children from poor, vulnerable, slum and street communities may face challenges such as poverty, homelessness, school dropout, neglect, exploitation and limited access to essential services. Nitya Foundation works to address these challenges through its Child Protection Support initiatives, helping vulnerable children move towards safety, education and a healthier childhood.

Protecting Vulnerable Children

Our Child Protection Support programme focuses on identifying vulnerable children and connecting them with safe and supportive environments. Nitya Foundation works with communities to understand children's needs and provide appropriate assistance, counselling, educational support and opportunities for personal development. The organisation's Child Development programme includes initiatives for street children, school dropout counselling, meals for underprivileged children, child protection and vocational skills.

Education as a Path to Protection

Education plays an important role in reducing children's vulnerability. Through our Child Protection Support work, we encourage children to stay connected with learning and create opportunities for them to continue their education. Nitya Foundation supports formal and non-formal education, tuition assistance and basic digital literacy for children from slum, rural and street communities.

Explore our Slum Children Education initiative to understand how safe learning spaces, digital learning, teacher support and mentorship can help children build confidence and overcome barriers to education.

Support for Street and Vulnerable Children

Street-connected children often face homelessness, poverty, abuse, exploitation and restricted access to education. Nitya Foundation's Child Protection Support approach aims to bring vulnerable children into safer and more supportive environments while helping them access education and understand their rights. The organisation's street-child initiative focuses on safe spaces, education and rights awareness.

Our Support to Street Children programme provides additional information about these efforts.

Nutrition, Counselling and Development

Child protection is not limited to physical safety. Children also need emotional support, nutritious food, counselling and opportunities to develop useful skills. Nitya Foundation's child development initiatives include meals for poor and underprivileged children, counselling for school dropouts and parents, and vocational skills for children. These activities support the overall development and well-being of vulnerable children.

Through Child Protection Support, we aim to create an environment where children can learn, grow, express themselves and look forward to a more secure future.

How You Can Help

Supporting vulnerable children requires collective action. Individuals, volunteers, donors and companies can contribute by supporting education, nutrition, child welfare and community-based programmes.
